MDDUS Insurance Limited is an insurance company within the MDDUS group. Built on 120 years of trust and expertise, MDDUS Insurance Limited provides contractual, regulated insurance to complement the discretionary indemnity protection that MDDUS has offered since 1902. We exist to help healthcare organisations across the United Kingdom with the challenges that arise from clinical and professional practice.

Chair
Derek started his insurance career in 1986 as an Underwriter with Royal & Sun Alliance. In 2000 he joined Aon and spent 4 years in their Bermuda office followed by a further 9 years in their Guernsey office managing captive insurance companies. In 2013 he took the mutual captive insurance company of the Catholic Church into a self-managed structure and served as their CEO for 11 years. He now sits as a non-executive director on a portfolio of captive and commercial insurance companies and took the Chair of MDDUS Insurance Limited in 2021.
James Parker
ACMA BSc
James is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 35 years’ experience in insurance and financial services. He has contributed to the healthcare and mutual sectors as CEO of CS Healthcare and Managing Director of Cigna Healthcare. He has also held various finance roles with Cigna and Prudential, both in the UK and Southeast Asia. James joined MDDUS as Finance Director in 2019.
Iain T Cameron

Iain is Emeritus Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and former Dean of Medicine at the University of Southampton. After graduating in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 1980, Iain undertook postgraduate training in Edinburgh, Melbourne and Cambridge. He was Chair of the Medical Schools Council from 2013-16 and was a Non-Executive Director of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust from 2011-2017. Iain has been a Non-Executive Director of MDDUS since 2017.
Malcolm Cutts-Watson
Malcolm has over 40 years of global experience in the insurance industry. Beginning his career in Bermuda in 1982, he played a pivotal role in the development of Vermont's captive insurance market and has since advised on strategic, operational, and governance issues across various industries and jurisdictions. Malcolm advises governments and regulators on legislative reforms and serves as a director for multiple insurers, holding Approved Person status in numerous domiciles. Recognised in the Captive Review Power 50, Malcolm received the Outstanding Contribution award in 2015 and was inducted into the Captive Hall of Fame in 2017.
Debbie Guillou
B.Acc (Hons), FCMA, C.Dir, FIoD
Debbie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Chartered Director with extensive experience across wealth management, insurance, fund management, utilities, and healthcare. She was a founding board member of the Office of the Financial Services Ombudsman in Guernsey and Jersey, which collectively operate under the name of the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman. Debbie joined Artemis as Chief Executive Officer in September 2019 and holds an honours degree in accountancy from the University of Stirling.
